"Children are great imitators. So give them something great to imitate." - Anonymous

When I look at the world today, I think of how we as adults are conducting ourselves and the impact it is having and will ultimately have on our children. Historically, children have looked to us for guidance to help them navigate their way through this thing called Life. But, after observing how we, as adults interact with each other, perhaps we have this all wrong.

Children are very tolerant. They do not care if you have one arm or three, if you can hear with your ears or if you listen through seeing, or if you want to be a boy or a girl, or even a unicorn. Of course, they will inquire if something is different from themselves, but they will accept the difference, may even proclaim it as "cool" and move on. Children are honest. They say what they mean and they mean what they say. Children are able to forgive. They will accept an apology and still build that amazing tower with their friend, even before all the tears of hurt have been wiped away.

Children are the true navigators in this thing called Life. Somehow along the way, we have forgotten these powerful life tools that children already possess. We are intolerant, judgemental, unforgiving, and dishonest with each other and ourselves. We are all looking for peace and love, yet we are not conducting ourselves in a peaceful and loving manner. Let's follow the children. We can model their innocent and genuine ways of connecting with others and make this thing called Life an amazing journey.
